Recognizing a stroke
This article was forwarded by my sister.
RECOGNIZING A STROKE :
Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify.Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke. Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:
remember the first three letters of stroke : s-t-r
1 S -Ask the individual to SMILE.
2 T -Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE ( For example: It is sunny out today.)
3 R -Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.
If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call emergency number immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.
New Sign of a Stroke -------- Stick out Your Tongue
Ask the person to 'stick'out his tongue.. If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other, that is also an indication of a stroke.

一言九頂
I joined a small gathering with college friends yesterday. One friend, a principal in a high school, said teaching in high school was pretty tough now. Some students are hard to discipline. They get defensive and defiant when teachers say something they don't like. This is what teachers call 一言九頂 .It means teacher say one word and students will talk back a lot in defiance. Is your child a 一言九鼎 or 一言九頂 child?

words of wisdom
one good thing about keeping a blog is that we can easily recall what happen at a specific time in the past by accessing our blogs and our friends can also know what we are doing these days by visiting our blogs once in a while. That is why I urge all friends I know to do the same.
